ABOUT THE OWNER:

Claire Wright is a mermaid from the desert, has never been called boring, and is self taught in most things with a couple fancy credentials like a Bachelors degree from the University of New Mexico and a NAUI Scuba Certification (that is probably expired). She migrated to the PNW from New Mexico somewhere in her mid twenties and followed her heart down the road (with many sharp learning curves) to starting, owning, and operating her own upholstery and sewing business, Cosecha Textiles, on the beautiful San Juan Island, WA in early 2015.  She relocated in March 2020 to the stunning Roaring Fork River Valley and set up shop in Carbondale, Colorado where she plans to stay for the long haul.

A classic overachiever with a nervous tick to please and obtain some semblance of perfection, while Claire started up her own business she simultaneously dove deep into her community by joining the San Juan County Arts Council (a local 501(c)3), spearheaded the San Juan Summer Arts Festival, assistant-coached the swim team, hosted workshops, participated in fun runs and triathlons, and even made an occasional nerve-wrecked debut on the open-mic night stage.

Claire is deeply passionate about and will fight you for: community, sustainability, colors, having fun, not being a jerk, her loved ones, and fermented foods. The journey of owning her own small business has been her biggest challenge and deepest source of all emotions imaginable.  People call her an artist, she calls herself a maker.

You can learn more about Claire and what she does on her social media platforms, links below.

Of course you can just ask her, too.
